Shift Value

A little help with your next shift

Shift Value estimates extra shift pay after taxes and deductions, and helps you track progress toward savings goals.

Enter your pay, tax settings and shift details to explore an estimate. Save quick shifts for later and record planned, worked or saved amounts toward your goals. Only saved amounts reduce a goal’s remaining balance.

Estimates, with context

Results are estimates, not tax advice or a guarantee of your paycheck. The app uses 2026 tax tables. Federal estimates use wage income, filing status and the standard deduction. State estimates use a simplified rate that you can override; you can also enter a local rate and a pretax retirement percentage.

Credits, itemized deductions and the federal overtime deduction are not included. Review your settings and consult a qualified tax professional for advice about your situation.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my paycheck different?

Payroll withholding can differ from estimated taxes on an extra shift. Your employer’s pay period, withholding elections, benefits, other deductions and year-to-date earnings can affect the amount you receive. Check your hourly rate, annual wages, filing status and state and local settings against your pay stub.

What does overtime include?

The app offers federal weekly overtime and an optional California daily overtime setting. It uses the hours you enter, your base pay and configured differentials to estimate straight-time pay and any overtime or double-time premium. Unpaid breaks are excluded. Your employer’s policies or an employment agreement may affect your actual pay.

Is my data shared?

No data is collected or sent by the app. Your information stays on your phone. You can choose to share a progress card by tapping Share; only what the card shows is sent. Device backups may include your saved file and are controlled by you. Read the privacy policy for details.
